New Catalog Blog Hop!

I first have to say that this card was really a labor of love for me because as much as I love the Butterfly Wishes stamp set, I was bound and determined to figure out another way to add some color to the stamped images. After experimenting on Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock with Early Espresso ink, I added color with Stampin’ Blends and was surprised at the results, the Early Espresso ink did not bleed! I even stamped off once before coloring with the Stampin’ Blends and had the same results. 

To start, I first used the largest Stitched Nested Labels to cut out of Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the large butterfly in Early Espresso ink, figured out where I wanted the branch placement, and then stamped that in Early Espresso ink (the branch is a little dark, you can stamp off once if you want it lighter):

I colored in the butterfly and flowers with Light Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends, the leaves with Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, and made some stamen lines with the Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends:

The base layer is Blackberry Bliss cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Folder, you will use the debossed side:

Additionally for the card front, you will use this design from the 2019-2021 6” x 6” DSP, cut at 3” x 5 ¼”, Rose Metallic Thread, and stamp the butterfly with Early Espresso ink on Whisper White cardstock, color with the Light and Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends, and punch out with the Butterfly Duet Punch:

I wrapped the Rose Metallic Thread around the middle of the DSP several times, adhering the ends to the back of the DSP:

The Stitched Nested Label piece is adhered to the middle of the DSP and then this is adhered to the embossed base layer (debossed side):

This is then adhered to a Blackberry Bliss cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I curled the butterfly wings with my bone folder, adhered it with a mini dimensional, and added three of the rectangle shaped Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems:

The inside is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, and the butterfly is stamped in Early Espresso ink, colored with the Light and Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends:


Fun and easy card to make! Again, these are my results that I’m sharing with you, you can always stamp off once before coloring and I even tried Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. While not all of my “idea’s” work out, I really do like the results of this!
