This Little Piggy birthday card!

Hello and welcome to today’s fun birthday card featuring This Little Piggy stamp set! Let’s face it, we all have a stamp set (or two or three) that we get because it is “so stinking cute”, make a card or two, and then….it just sits on the shelf or in a drawer neglected and collecting dust. So, I dusted off this stamp set and challenged myself to create this cute birthday card, which was super easy with Stampin’ Blends!

The base layer is Blushing Bride cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and I used the Buffalo Check background stamp in Smoky Slate ink:

The two pig stamps are stamped in Memento Ink on Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3” x 4 ¼”:

The grass/ground is colored with Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, the pig hoofs are colored with Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, the sun is created with a sponge dauber with Daffodil Delight ink, the sky is colored with Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends, and then I used the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to color around the sun:

The pig ears and noses are colored with Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends, the rest of the pigs are colored with Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends, the leaf on the daisy is colored with Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, and the center of the daisy is colored in with Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I did use the Color Lifter where the Light Balmy Blue and Light Granny Apple Green colors meet to soften that line:

I adhered a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon across the middle of the Buffalo Check base layer with Tear & Tape:

The base layer is adhered to a Smoky Slate cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½ x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”, the stamped and colored cardstock is adhered with dimensionals, and then I added four of the pearl white adhesive-backed sequins:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment with Smoky Slate ink, stamp the pig with Memento Ink, and color with the same colors as the front of the card:

Wasn’t this a fun and cute card to make using Stampin’ Blends? Do you have a stamp set (or two) that you haven’t used in a while? Then bring it out and get let your creativity flow!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
