Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a beach themed card with the Lilypad Lake stamp set and the Lakeside Framelits Dies! Don’t be fooled by this card, it is so very easy to make, but you may just get ink on your fingers! Lol Since the warm weather is here (or maybe on the way where you live), I thought this would be a fun way to create with this stamp and die set.
The base layer is a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I first stamped the Crackle Paint background stamp in Gray Granite ink, dragged my Coastal Cabana ink pad across the backside (the raised side w/o the Sizzix and SU! logos) of the Pinewood Planks 3D folder, and then embossed to create a “weathered wood look”:

To create the sunset, I used the second largest Layering Circle Die to cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then used a post it note across the bottom half for a mask. Using Sponge Daubers, I first colored the whole area with Daffodil Delight ink, then coloring in layers going down with Mango Melody, Poppy Parade, and Blackberry Bliss inks, creating a gradient effect:

I removed the post it note and used the wave stamp in Blueberry Bushel ink, stamping several times until the area is filled in:

To fill in the white space of the waves, I used the sponge daubers from creating the sunset to make it look like the sky is reflecting off the water:

Additionally for the card front, you will layer the sunset piece on Pool Party cardstock cut out with the second largest scalloped Layering Circles Framelits, the heron, two boats and grass cut out of Basic Black cardstock, and then a 4” piece of Burlap Ribbon:

To assemble the card front, I adhered the heron to the layered sunset piece (covering my little boo-boo with ink on my fingers), adhered the boats with each going opposite direction, adhere the grass together by flipping one side over (kinda like the boats, each facing opposite directions) and using a mini dimensional that I cut in half to adhere to the layered circle sunset piece, and the Burlap Ribbon is adhered to the embossed base layer with Tear & Tape:

This completed piece is adhered to a Pool Party cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the heron in Gray Granite ink, color the heron in with Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, stamp the wave stamp along the bottom in Blueberry Bushel ink, use a sponge dauber with Seaside Spray ink to fill in the waves, and then the sentiment is stamped in Pool Party ink:

That really was easy! This would also be a great Father’s Day card and you could easily make multiples of! Coloring with Sponge Daubers is so easy and yes, I have one for each Stampin’ Up color and they are all labeled! That is just my personal preference, I don’t want to mix up colors, just in case! lol
