A Daisy Lane friend card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which feature’s the Daisy Lane stamp set, found on page 23, from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog! I also embossed the So Saffron Vellum cardstock, from the Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock, with the Basket Weave 3D Embossing Folder! This is another fun way to use the vellum cardstock on your cards and projects! One little tip that I can pass along about this new cardstock is that one side of the cardstock is smoother and slightly lighter and the other side has a slight “rough” texture and slightly darker. When you have this beautiful vellum cardstock in your hands, you will see what I’m talking about!

To start, cut a piece of the vellum cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and emboss the darker/rough side with the Basket Weave 3D EF, which will be your base layer:

You will also need the large daisy stamp to stamp once on So Saffron cardstock with So Saffron ink and once on Petal Pink cardstock with Petal Pink ink, punching out with the coordinating Daisy Punch. The flower stem is stamped in Old Olive ink on Whisper White cardstock, “fussy cut” out, the sentiment is stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Old Olive ink and the flowers are sponged with daubers, So Saffron ink in the center and Petal Pink ink on the petals, cutting out with the die from Stitched Labels Dies, one of the Perennial Essence Floral Centers, and enough Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon to tie into a bow, which I colored with the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends:

The daisy petals are layered (offset) on top of each other, the Petal Pink is underneath, the floral center is placed in the flower center, then this is adhered to the flower stem. The sentiment piece is adhered to the vellum cardstock, the flower is adhered on top and to the side of the sentiment piece, and then the ribbon bow is adhered with glue dots:

I used liquid glue behind the flower and sentiment piece on the back side of the vellum cardstock to adhere to the Petal Pink cardstock card base, which is cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Old Olive ink, and the flowers are stamped the same way I did for the front, with sponge daubers, So Saffron, and Petal Pink inks:

Isn’t this a great card that your friend would love?? This sentiment could be for a birthday or any other celebratory reason!! I just love this stamp set and cannot wait to get the coordinating Medium Daisy Punch to create more layers and colors for pretty flowers!!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
