Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a great congratulations card using the new Come Sail Away Suite! Whether it’s a graduation, retirement, or another achievement, this suite is perfect for the occasion! This card is also perfect to give you a sneak peek at the upcoming new InColor, Seaside Spray, by replacing the listed coordinating color Balmy Blue. I mean, Seaside Spray just has to coordinate with the Come Sail Away Suite just because of the name, right?? Lol
For the card front base layer, I used this design from the DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

Additionally, you will use the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s twine to create a “rope” (directions below), the ship’s wheel trinket, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the 1 ½” Punch, use the coordinating framelit to cut out of Night of Navy cardstock, stamp the smaller sailboat in Soft Suede ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the coordinating thinlit, and then to create background for the sailboat I pressed a clear block onto the Seaside Spray ink pad, spritzed the block with water, pressed the block onto Whisper White cardstock, and then cut out with the 4thlargest Rectangle Stitched Framelit. ***TIP-you can use your heat gun to dry out the paper and prevent it from curling up from the water:

To create the “rope”, I cut a 10” piece of the baker’s twine, folded it in half, and then tied it into 3 knots. I used my snips on the end with the loop to even out the twine length on the ends and then used my fingers/nails to “fray” the ends:

To assemble the card front, first adhere the Whisper White rectangle inked cardstock at an angle onto the DSP base layer. Adhere the sentiment onto the Night of Navy cardstock, adhere the ship’s wheel trinket with glue dots, and then adhere this piece and the sailboat with dimensionals. The baker’s twine is adhered with glue dots and then I stamped the birds in Soft Suede ink. This completed piece is adhered to Seaside Spray cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, stamp the sailboat in Soft Suede ink, and then I used my Aqua Painter with Seaside Spray ink to color in around the sailboat:

Isn’t this a great congratulations card?? It was so easy to create the background for the sailboat by just using a clear block, a stamp pad, and a spritzer with water! You can use this with any color! I usually will use my ink refill bottle and a drop or two directly on the clear block, but I haven’t ordered mine yet, so pad to block is the perfect solution!
