Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Mother’s Day Theme Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, I’m an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop or you have hopped on over from another site, thank you for letting me share my creation today! So, let’s get started!
For my Mother’s Day card, I am featuring the stamp set from the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin, Sentimental Rose. This stamp set is a photopolymer distINKtive set, with a beautiful rose and leaf stamps, and versatile sentiments. While the kit makes the smaller notecards, I am making an alternative full-size card featuring three of the retiring 2017-2019 InColors. I will miss these retiring InColors, they complement each other so well!
The base layer is a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Powder Pink cardstock, embossed with the Tufted DTIEF:

To create the rose stamped cardstock, first cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 3’ x 4” and then stamp the rose on a scrap piece of paper and fussy cut out to use as a mask:

I first stamped the rose in Fresh Fig ink about the middle of the cardstock, applied the mask on top, stamped the rose again in each corner in Powder Pink ink, and then I stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist ink:

Additionally, you will need enough Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon to tie into a bow around the embossed base layer, stamp the sentiment in Fresh Fig ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, cut out with the smallest Stitched Rectangle Framelit, and then use the next size up framelit to cut a piece from Fresh Fig cardstock to layer the sentiment on:

To assemble the card front, tie the ribbon around the embossed base layer into a bow and then adhere the stamped cardstock with dimensionals:

Layer and adhere the rectangle cardstock together, place a dimensional on one end, and adhesive on the other end. This will secure the layered sentiment to the stamped cardstock and also keep it level with the stamped cardstock with the dimensional on the opposite end:

This piece is then adhered to a Fresh Fig cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I thought the flowers needed just a little something more, so I placed a pearl from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls in the middle. If you do not have these, you can use a Rhinestone or Pearl Basic Jewel instead:

For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Fresh Fig ink, stamp the rose in the corner in Fresh Fig ink, and stamp the leaf in Lemon Lime Twist ink. I added some Wink of Stella to the middle of the rose, you can’t really see it, except where the area is lighter:

This is a great alternative for the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin and with the versatile sentiments, you can do this for any occasion! Be sure to join me next week as I share more alternative creations from this Paper Pumpkin!
