Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun daisy birthday card using the new Daisy Lane stamp set! Since the birth flower for the month of April, I thought this card would be perfect not only for a birthday card, but to also give you a little sneak peek at the new Daisy Lane stamp set! If you are familiar with the Daisy Delight stamp set, the Daisy Lane set is completely different. Not only is the stamp set a cling stamp set (Daisy Delight is a photopolymer), but the whole style is different. However, it does coordinate with the Daisy Punch, but it also coordinates with a new Medium Daisy Punch! I did receive the Daisy Lane stamp set at OnStage, but unfortunately, we are not able to order the Medium Daisy Punch right now, so fingers crossed it will be orderable next month when demonstrators can preorder select products from the Annual Catalog before it goes live on June 4th! I’m mixing it up for today’s card, which includes products from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.
The base layer is Soft Sea Foam cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Basket Weave TIEF:
The next layer is this design from the Garden Impressions 6” x 6” DSP. I first cut 1 ½” off one end and then cut this piece in half so you will have two pieces at ¾” x 6”. For the 4 ½” x 6” piece, cut this piece at 3” along the 6” side, which will give you two pieces at 3” x 4 ½”:
For the rest of the card front, I used the Happy , Birthday thinlit on a piece of Gold Foil Sheet, stamped the stem in Granny Apple Green on Whisper White cardstock and “fussy cut” out, stamped the large daisy on Whisper White cardstock in Versamark, heat embossed in White Emboss Powder, used a sponge dauber to color in with Daffodil Delight ink, and then used the Daisy Punch to punch out the embossed image and punching out two additional pieces in Daffodil Delight and Whisper White cardstock. **I used Sizzix Adhesive sheet on the back of the Gold Foil before cutting:
To layer the daisy pieces together, I used liquid glue to adhere the Whisper White to the Daffodil Delight, and then adhered the embossed daisy to the Whisper White cardstock. Each layer is slightly off, so when all three pieces are adhered, you can see them peeking out. I then used the largest Gold Faceted Gem in the center:
To assemble the card, cut a piece of So Saffron cardstock at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”, adhere the embossed cardstock, and then adhere the DSP:
For the die cut sentiment, I found it easier to adhere this piece first before the daisy pieces, which I used the edge of the embossed cardstock as a guide. I used Sizzix Adhesive Sheet as my adhesive for this, but you can use liquid glue:
I used glue dots to adhere the stem, only on the right side, which will be on the DSP, and also used glue dots to adhere the daisy flower to the DSP. **If you notice the petals are slightly up versus completely flat, I used the large stylus end of my Take Your Pick tool around the center of the daisy towards the petals, with my pierce mat underneath:
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Incredible Like You stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock and then adhered the ¾” x 6” piece of DSP along the bottom, snipping off the excess:
Doesn’t this card just make you think of Spring?? The basket weave, the daisy, or the light and soft colors used, this card is sure to brighten someone’s birthday!
