Feel better soon

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super sweet “get well soon” card! No matter if someone is feeling “down and out” or “down for the count”, what better way to perk them up than a bright and colorful card! Speaking of color, do you ever wonder about different color combinations and how to figure them out? Head to Pinterest! That’s how I decided on the colors I used today. I started out with Coastal Cabana and I wanted to use colors that I could also use for the flower from Humming Along, so I chose to use Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, and Granny Apple Green with Copper Foil for a little bling!

I first started with the flower on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Smoky Slate ink with my Stamparatus:

The flower is colored in with Light and Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends, the stem and leaf and colored with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, and the stamen is colored in with Light Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends:

This is then heat embossed with copper powder and cut out with the coordinating framelit:

The base layer is Mango Melody cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

The next layer is this design in Coastal Cabana from the Brights 6” x 6” DSP, cut at 3” x 5 ¼” and then two strips of Copper Foil, cut at ¾” x 5 ¼”:

First adhere the Copper Foil strips to the back of the Coastal Cabana DSP (use your grid paper to help line them up) and then adhere to the Mango Melody cardstock:

For the rest of the card front, you will need to cut out flower, a piece of Whisper White Tulle Ribbon tied into a bow, and the sentiment from Florentine Filigree stamp set is stamped in Coastal Cabana ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the smaller layering framelit from Lily Framelits Dies, and then cut out a piece of Mango Melody cardstock with the larger layering framelit:

Adhere the flower on the DSP, adhere the bow with a glue dot, and then adhere the layering cardstock pieces together, then adhere to the card front with dimensionals. This is then adhered to a Thick Whisper White cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼”x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

The inside sentiment is from Humming Along in Coastal Cabana ink and adhere a ¾” strip of the DSP along the bottom, trimming off the excess:

What do you think?? Bright, fun, quick, and easy! All the things a card should be! Have you ever been stuck on color combinations? Just choose one color and see what you get, you just may be surprised!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
