Fun birthday card with Gingham Gala DSP

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun birthday card made with the leftover strips of Gingham Gala DSP from Monday’s blog post! If you missed it, you can see it here. Since each strip of DSP is ¾” x 6” that made it very easy to use them to create this card front, which I layered on a piece of embossed cardstock.

I first lined up the DSP in the order that I wanted the colors to go and then trimmed ¼”, ½”, ¾”, 1”, and 1 ¼” off each color:

Each end was then cut with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered to a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Night of Navy Cardstock that is embossed with the Subtle DTIEF. The total width of the DSP strips is 3 ¾”, which allows you to leave a space on each end:

For the rest of the card front, I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Life stamp set in Night of Navy ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the 3rdsmallest Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. Use a piece of Silver Foil Sheet to cut out the balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch, tie a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine on the small balloon and Night of Navy Medium Baker’s Twine on the big balloon, and then adhere with dimensionals. I added three of the Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequin Stars for some extra bling:

This piece is then adhered with dimensionals to a 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, Night of Navy cardstock card base:

The inside sentiment from Amazing Life is stamped in Night of Navy ink, the cake and accent stamp is stamped in Balmy Blue ink, and the candle is colored in with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker:

What a quick and easy card to make with those leftover scraps! It is so easy to make this an any occasion card, just change up the sentiment!

It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up!
