One Sheet Wonder with Gingham Gala DSP

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a quick and easy One Sheet Wonder using the Gingham Gala 6” x 6” DSP! I don’t know about you, but I am always on the lookout for great OSW’s that I can utilize as much DSP as possible and so I’m going to show you how I made two cards from one sheet of the DSP! This is not only a great way to use up your DSP, but you can easily make several cards to keep on hand for any occasion.

I first started with a piece of the Gingham Gala DSP in Daffodil Delight, cut ¾” off one side (5 ¼” x 6”), turned the DSP, and cut the 6” side in half or at 3”. This will give you two pieces measuring 3” x 5 ¼” and then one piece measuring ¾” x 6”:

I then cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 2” x 5 ¼” and using both bokeh dot stamps from Beauty Abounds, stamp the larger dots in Smokey Slate ink and the smaller dots in Daffodil Delight ink:

For the card front, you will use the coordinating Daffodil Delight Organdy Ribbon*, Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins, and the small butterfly dies from the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies in Black Foil Sheets. TIP**I cut a 1” x 12” strip of the Black Foil Sheet, cut it in half (6”), cut a piece of the Multipurpose Adhesive sheet at 1” x 6”, and placed it on the back of the foil sheet prior to cutting. This makes adhering those little intricate pieces easy:

To assemble the card front, I adhered the stamped cardstock to the DSP and then adhered this to Daffodil Delight cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. Remove the adhesive sheet backing from the butterflies to adhere, place 3 of the adhesive-backed sequins in random places, and then tie the organdy ribbon into a bow and adhere with a glue dot:

The inside sentiment is on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock, the butterflies from Beauty Abounds are stamped in Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight inks, and the sentiment from the stamp set is stamped in Smoky Slate ink:

*Unfortunately, the organdy ribbon from the SAB catalog is no longer available, however, here is an alternative using the Daffodil Delight ¼” Double-Stitched Ribbon:

Here are some more cards that I made exactly the same, just made them in Balmy Blue, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather, and Lemon Lime Twist and the second card has an alternative ribbon used in place of the organdy ribbon:

What really makes this card easy is that the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies comes with multiples of the same die! So, you can cut all the butterflies you need for BOTH cards at the same time! You can also leave the inside blank for now and then when you need a card just stamp that sentiment!

Did you notice that you are left with five ¾” strips of the DSP?? Then be sure to join me next time as I show you a card to make with those!!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
