A different kind of Valentine’s Day card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is an alternative card made for Valentine’s Day! While I’ve made several Valentine’s cards to inspire you from the Occasion’s Catalog, I thought my final card this week would be something “outside the box”! Whether hearts and flowers are not really your thing or maybe you only make one card for Valentine’s Day, I put on my “creative cap” to find a set from the current Annual Catalog. I first thought about Animal Outing, which would be perfect since this month’s Paper Pumpkin coordinates with Animal Outing, but then I thought about Little Twinkle and thought the sentiment would be perfect! Add a little heat embossing, Rose Glimmer Paper, and Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems…you get a super cute Valentine’s Day card!

The DSP used for this card is from the Twinkle Twinkle DSP, the base layer is 4” x 5 ¼” and the next layer is 3 ½” x 4 ¾”:

For the card front, you will need two of the largest Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems (hexagon shape), another piece of the DSP big enough to heat emboss the sentiment in Silver Emboss Powder and cut out with the 3rdsmallest Rectangle Stitched Framelits, and use the Twinkle Builder Punch for the moon, two of each size stars, and one dot from Rose Glimmer Paper:

To assemble the card front, layer and adhere the two pieces of DSP together, adhere the moon to the sentiment, use the Take Your Pick Tool to help pick up and adhere the stars and dot with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, and then place the gems. This is then adhered to the card base, which is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, I used a sponge dauber with Night of Navy ink to sponge the moon with a mask I created from old cardstock and the punch and then heat embossed the stars and dot stamp in Silver Emboss Powder. **If you have the Spooky Sweets stamp set, you can always use the moon from that instead of masking**:

Isn’t this a great card?? You can easily use the Twinkle Twinkle Suite to create your cards, just change up the colors used! Have a retired heart punch or die set? Substitute the stars for hearts!

Wondering what specials are going on?? Current specials are listed to the right!!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
