Quick and easy Valentine’s Day card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a quick and easy Valentine’s Day card I made with pieces of cardstock and DSP with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits. When Sweet & Sassy Framelits retired from the last annual catalog, I was bummed! So, when I saw the Be Mine Stitched Framelits, I just had to get them! Now I didn’t get the coordinating stamp set, Meant to Be, which is totally ok, this isn’t the first time I’ve bought the framelits and not the stamp set. However, these framelits do coordinate with the All My Love DSP and this is how I came up with today’s card.

The design from All My Love DSP with the Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick flower hearts can be cut out with the 3rdlargest and the smallest heart framelit. The 3rdlargest heart actually cuts out twice, giving you a heart design and then a scalloped stitched heart frame:

Then if you flip over the white heart frame, you have the other side of the DSP! Rather than wasting these hearts, I thought I would try and do something to incorporate them into a simple Valentine’s card.

To create the card front, start with a piece of Real Red cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and use Real Red ink to stamp the Crackle Paint background stamp. The bigger heart is cut out of Blushing Bride cardstock using the largest narrow heart and sponge some Frost White Shimmer Paint all over. The two small white hearts are from the long multiple heart framelit and I put some Wink of Stella on them, but you can’t really see it. Finally, you will need two of the scalloped heart frames and a piece of Flax Ribbon, cut about 4”:

To assemble, I adhered the ribbon with Tear & Tape across the middle of the Real Red cardstock, adhered the heart frame with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, adhered the Blushing Bride heart with dimensionals, adhere the second heart frame with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, and then adhered the small hearts with mini dimensionals. This completed piece is adhered to a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The inside is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock. The inside heart is cut out of Real Red cardstock and adhered with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, the sentiment is stamped in Real Red ink, and the small hearts are stamped in Blushing Bride ink:

If you are like me and send Valentine’s cards to family and friends, you kind of want them to be not so much on the romantic side, but still cute and fun! This is a great way to send a card and let them know you are thinking of them!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
