Hello and welcome to today’s project, which is a scrapbook page layout for Christmas! I don’t know about you, but I really haven’t “put away” any of my Christmas crafting goodies, so I thought what better way to use up left-over designer series paper than make a scrapbook page! If you like to scrapbook or even would like to start scrapbooking, it can be very overwhelming not just to keep up with, but where to start?! For Christmas 2016 I decided to make a scrapbook of the year for my parents, my in-laws, and my son and daughter in-law because we had an eventful and exciting year (my older son and DIL were married, my younger son graduated from boot camp, my older son was promoted in the service, first deployment homecoming, family vacation, and a birth announcement!). While it may have seemed easy because I just went chronologically through the year, making 4 (yes, FOUR) scrapbooks starting right after Thanksgiving was a lot! So needless to say, mine did not get made, but the other 3 did and I took pictures of each page for when I get around to making mine….
With the New Year upon us, I did make some “crafting resolutions” and one of those is to use up all the old designer series paper I have on hand, whether it’s card making, some sort of craft, or scrapbooking. With the end of the 2018 Holiday Catalog just days away, I thought that creating a quick and fun scrapbook page would be a great way to end the year and start on my resolution!
To start, I used the tree stamp from Winter Woods and stamped it twice in Garden Green ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then cut out one image with the coordinating framelit from In the Woods and then cut out the other tree with the smaller framelit that gives it a 3D effect. I then used some of the Shimmery White Embossing Paste on the cut outs and set aside to dry:
For this page, I decided to use one 4”x 6” photo and two 2”x 3” photos, so for the 4” x 6” I cut a piece of Garden Green cardstock at 4 ½” x 6 ½” and used this edgelit die from Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies on the sides. Then I cut two pieces of the DSP at 2 ½” x 3 ½”, just flipping over one of the DSP:
The rest of the items I used is the sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White cardstock, punched out with the Starburst Punch, punched out another in Garden Green cardstock, used both snowflake framelits to cut out 2 small and 3 large from the Sparkle Glimmer Paper, both layers of the tree are adhered with mini dimensionals, the deer’s are stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the coordinating framelits from the Dashing Deer Bundle, and used the hill framelit from In the Woods on a piece of 1 ½” x 4” piece of White Velvet paper:
I chose this design from the DSP and figured out the best placement for the pictures:
Then I took the accessory pieces and placed them where I thought they looked best. The snowflakes are adhered using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, the deer in the upper right corner is adhered with dimensionals, the sentiment is adhered to the cardstock (slightly off) and then adhered with dimensionals, the hill is adhered to the DSP with the small deer adhered to the velvet paper, and then the layered tree is adhered with dimensionals:
Wasn’t that pretty quick and easy? Even though I don’t have pictures ready, I’m going to store this in the time being in one of my 12” x 12” Page Protectors (page 194 in the AC). Another alternative to the picture size is two 4” x 6” or four 2” x 3” pictures. I just love the sentiment for this scrapbook page, it sums up the season!
