Christmas Holiday Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Thanksgiving Theme Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, I’m an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop or you have hopped on over from another site, thank you for letting me share my creation today! So, let’s get started!

When I sat down to figure out what I was going to create for this blog hop, I decided to use the Tags & Tidings stamp set from the Tags & Tidings Bundle. I originally missed this bundle when the Holiday Catalog came out, but I’m so glad I purchased it! Every year I make Christmas Tags and send them to family and this bundle makes it that much easier! One stamp and one thinlit die and you get 16 tags! This is a fun and easy way to use up your DSP and I always have leftover Christmas DSP after I have made my cards. My original idea was going to incorporate the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP, but since that is no longer available, I still wanted to create with the Tranquil Tide and Merry Merlot color combo. The sentiments used are from the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin, To You & Yours, which are super cute and perfect for this card!

The card base is Tranquil Tide cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The base layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the Tags & Tidings stamp in Merry Merlot ink. This was very helpful to ensure that all the images where inked and stamped onto the cardstock. I also used my Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Marker to color in some of the little details:

For the front of the card sentiment, I used the biggest Stitched Label Framelit to cut out a piece of the Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper from the Joyous Noel 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper, cut at 6” piece of the Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon and flag the ends with paper snips, the sentiment is heat embossed in Copper Emboss Powder on a 1” piece of Whisper White cardstock with the ends punched with the Banner Triple Punch:

To complete this piece, I used glue dots to adhere the ribbon folded in half and then used liquid glue to adhere the ribbon to the glimmer paper. The sentiment is adhered with dimensionals across the middle:

The base layer is adhered to the card base and then the sentiment piece is adhered with dimensionals:

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and heat embossed in Copper Emboss powder. I wanted to add a little something extra for the inside, so I used the tree framelit from In the Woods Framelits on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then sponged some Tranquil Tide ink on with a sponge dauber. I adhered this with mini dimensionals, used the ground cover stamp from the Winter Woods stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink and then used a little bit of Embossing Paste, which mixed with the ink and makes it look like there is “snow” under the tree:

What do you think?? The Tags & Tidings Bundle really is a versatile set! If you missed out on the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin, you can easily substitute for any sentiment you already have.

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!

  1. I would not have thought to use the stamp like a background stamp. That’s cool, and turned out to be a nice card. Love your tree also.
