Sneak peak of Butterfly Gala from the 2019 Occasions Catalog!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a sneak peak of the Gingham Gala Suite from the upcoming 2019 Occasions Catalog! For those of us that attended Onstage in Orlando, we were actually able to preorder certain products from the 2019 Occasion and Sale-A-Bration catalogs and I could not wait to order the Butterfly Gala Bundle:

There are actually two new bundles coming from the Occasions Catalog featuring butterflies! I am so excited because I have been waiting for Stampin’ Up! to bring back either a punch or dies, so if you are like me, you won’t be disappointed. What drew me to the Butterfly Gala stamp set was the details on the butterflies because there are so many creative ways you can use this set, whether you color with. Stampin’ Blends, Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers, Brusho, or no coloring at all (which is what I did). Then you add in a coordinating punch, this was a must on my first purchase list! So when I sat down to create this card, I really wanted to show you how beautifully detailed these stamps are:

To create this card, first start with a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock for the card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½:

For the base layer, I used a piece of the Gingham Gala 6” x 6” DSP in Grapefruit Grove, cut one side at 1 ½”x 6”, and then cut the remaining piece at 3” along the 6” side. This will give you two pieces at 3” x 4 ½” and one piece at 1 ½” x 6”, sooo you can make two cards at once! I wanted to also show you both sides of the new DSP, one side has the bigger check and the other side has the smaller check:

If you notice, the stamp set comes with four butterfly designs and these are the three that I am using:

On a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the butterfly image in Memento ink. I then created a template with the coordinating punch so I could stamp the body in the correct spot (or close to it) for when I punched the images out. Using the Stamparatus for the process is VERY helpful:

I next stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Memento ink, punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch, punched out another piece from the Silver Foil Sheet, and then cut that in half to layer behind the sentiment:

I adhered the 3” x 4 ½” piece of DSP to the card base, tied a piece of Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain ribbon in a bow, adhered the sentiment with dimensionals, and then adhered two small and two large butterflies with mini dimensionals to finish the card front:

The inside sentiment is stamped in Grapefruit Grove ink and then I adhered the two remaining butterflies with mini dimensionals:

What do you think?? I just love the simplicity of this card, but it looks stunning with the Grapefruit Grove for the “pop of color”!! I pretty much ordered everything from this suite and there is also coordinating DSP and wood elements that you can earn from the Sale-A-Bration catalog with a qualifying purchase! Yay for Butterflies!! lol

Wondering what specials are going on?? Current specials are listed to the right!!
