Birthday card with bling!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun birthday card with lots of bling! Rose Glimmer Paper, Rose Metallic Thread, and Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems are the perfect elements to make any card shine! This is also a great way to use any scraps of DSP that you may have or to make multiples just cut a 2” strip of DSP and then cut that down into 2” x 2” squares.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut to 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The base layer is this design from the Petal Promenade DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the card front, you will need some Petal Pink Metallic Rhinestones, Rose Metallic Thread, a 2” x 2” piece of Petal Promenade DSP, use the fourth largest scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits, and stamp the sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Crumb Cake ink, punching out with the Classic Label Punch. Tip-You can always use the fifth largest square from the Layering Squares Framelits instead, the glimmer paper will cover that up:

To assemble the front, use liquid glue to adhere the DSP to the glimmer paper and adhere the sentiment with Mini Dimensionals. I wrapped the metallic thread several times around the base layer, placing some adhesive on the back to keep the ends in place:

The base layer is adhered to the card base, the layered squares are adhered with dimensionals, and then I added one of each shape of the rhinestone gems:

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and stamped in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake inks, which are from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set:

Another fun and easy card that your recipient will surely love! One more helpful tip, if you are mailing this card, I place a piece of printer paper over the front to help the envelope and card from being damaged in the mailing process!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
