Hello and welcome to today’s card, which was inspired from the card examples in the 2018 Holiday Catalog for the Winter Woods Bundle! I really wanted to CASE the trees and create my own version of a fall wreath, which is pretty easy to do. In case you haven’t noticed, some of the dies sets now come with multiple dies of some of the smaller pieces, which makes it so much easier if you have several pieces to cut, just like this wreath!
To create this card, start with Garden Green cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½” for the card base:
The base layer is a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Galvanized Metallic Paper, embossed with the Corrugated Dynamic TIEF:
To create the wreath, start with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and use the largest and third largest circles from the Layer Circles Framelits. I used sticky notes to keep them in place when die cutting:
Next, I used the pine needle leaf from the Winter Woods stamp set and stamped around in Garden Green, Cajun Crazy, and Mango Melody inks:
For the front accents, you will need a piece of Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon tied into a bow, stamp the pinecone stamp on Crumb Cake cardstock in Early Espresso ink, and stamp the pine needle stamp on Garden Green cardstock with Garden Green ink, Cajun Craze cardstock with Cajun Craze ink, and Mango Melody cardstock with Mango Melody ink. These are cut out using the coordinating die from In the Woods Framelits Dies:
To create the tree trunks, I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock at 3 ½” x 3 ½”, use my Stamparatus to stamp them in Early Espresso ink, and then used a Blender Pen with Whisper White Craft ink to color them in. Tip-I have a designated pen that one end is used only for the craft ink as it will not completely come off. You could also use the White Watercolor Pencil instead of the craft ink:
The wreath base is adhered to this piece, the die cut leaves are arranged around, then adhere the pinecones with Mini Dimensionals and use a Glue Dot for the Crumb Cake bow. After this was put together, I decided to add three Rhinestone Gems that I colored with Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend:
Adhered the embossed base layer to the card base and then adhere the front layer with dimensionals:
For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, and stamp the leaves and pinecones along the bottom left corner:
Have you ever been inspired by an example found in the catalog? I just loved the white on the tree trunks and was inspired to CASE it! This card may seem a little overwhelming with details, but having multiple dies made this card very easy!
