Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a great combination of stamping, embossing, and die cutting for this super cute fall themed card! Nothing says fall like plaid and cable knit, right? But wait, where did this plaid background come from? By creating my own using the Buffalo Check background stamp! You can create your own plaid background by using the Buffalo Check stamp, Stampin’ Write Markers, and a ruler! This is a fun and easy way to create your own custom color plaid background.
To create this card, the card base is Mossy Meadow cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:
The plaid background is created by stamping the Buffalo Check background stamp in Cajun Craze ink on a piece of 4” x 5 ½” Very Vanilla cardstock and I used a ruler to create the lines with the Crushed Curry (brush tip end) and Mossy Meadow (fine tip end) Stampin’ Write Markers:
For the card front elements, punch a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the 2 ¼” Circle Punch, then emboss with the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF, stamp the pinecones in Early Espresso ink on Early Espresso cardstock with the pinecone stamp from the Winter Woods stamp set, cutting out with the coordinating die from In the Woods Framelits Dies, use the tree dies from In the Woods to cut out two trees in Crumb Cake cardstock, and enough Braided Linen Trim to wrap around the card front and tie into a bow:
The plaid cardstock is adhered to the card base, I used a glue dot at the tree base to adhere the trees to the embossed circle, two of the pinecones are adhered with Mini Dimensionals and the other two are adhered with a glue dot at the bottom of the trees, this is then adhered to the card with dimensionals, and I tied a piece of the Braided Linen Trim in a bow around the front:
The inside is a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Very Vanilla cardstock with the pinecones stamped in the upper right and lower left corners:
Creating the plaid background was very easy and you can create your own combo by using the fine tip or the brush tip for the accent colors! It all depends how prominent you want your accents colors to be. Need a more masculine card? Try this one for your occasion!
