Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is created using two of the designs from the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper! While I may have decided not to get the Cauldron Bubble stamp set or the coordinating framelits for my Halloween cards this year, I could not not get the Toil & Trouble DSP! So, I decided that I would cut out some of the images from the DSP to create a card with! Make the DSP work for you, right??
To create this card, first start with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½” for the card base:
The base layer is Basic Black cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:
The second layer is Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 ¾” x 5” and I created the background using this design from the Gallery Grunge stamp set in Mango Melody, Lemon Lime Twist, and Gorgeous Grape inks:
From the Toil & Trouble DSP, I cut the witches out from that sheet and then for the cauldron sheet, I cut the spiders and stripes into a strip and the dots into a strip, then cut out the cauldrons individually. The spider strip is cut at 3 ¾” and I added some Wink of Stella to the bubbles and fire on the cauldron:
I adhered the striped DSP across the stamped cardstock, adhered the witches around the cauldron, and then adhered the cauldron with dimensionals in the middle of the witches:
This is then adhered to the Basic Black base layer and then adhered to the card base:
For the inside sentiment, I used a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, stamped the sentiment from Spooky Sweets stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink, adhered another cauldron cut out in the corner, and then stamped the image stamp from Warm Hearted in Lemon Lime Twist ink to make it look like it was rising out of the cauldron:
Fussy cutting is not quick and easy, however, being able to create with what you have cut out is! I almost did not get this DSP, however, I decided that I would try and be creative with some of the sheets that I was not to enthused about. We’ve all been there, right??
