Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Animal Outing stamp set, Animal Friends Thinlits Dies, and the Animal Expedition Designer Series! If you follow me on Facebook then you know last week I shared that some of the thinlits dies can cut some of the images from one of the DSP designs, so I thought I would create a card doing this! If you are in need of a quick card, then this comes in handy!!
I first started hand cutting part of the DSP that I will be using the dies on:
Here are the images that I cut out with the dies:
The card base is Call Me Clover cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:
Next, I used this design from the DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:
I used the largest scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits to create the “window” and then cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4” x 4”, which will be the base layer for under the DSP:
Using Stampin’ Sponges, I colored the Whisper White cardstock with Balmy Blue ink to create the sky and then Call Me Clover and Lemon Lime Twist inks to create the grass:
For some added texture, I used the cloud mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks with White Embossing Paste and the Palette Knives:
While the Embossing Paste Dries, I cut out on Whisper White cardstock two banners from the Playful Pennants Dies, then used two of the pennant stamps from the Pick a Pennant stamp set in Call Me Clover and Lemon Lime Twist inks:
To stamp the sentiment on the banner, I used a template that I created to keep them in place on my Stamparatus. The letters are then stamped in Call Me Clover ink:
By now the Embossing Paste is dry, to I used Snail adhesive to place the animals towards the center and overlapping each other:
On Call Me Clover cardstock, cut out six of the leaf images from the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies:
Flip the DSP over and place some adhesive along the bottom of the square cut out and adhere the leaves. Then use more adhesive along the rest of the square to adhere the Whisper White cardstock with images:
Use Mini Dimensionals to adhere the banner to the front and then snip off any overhanging pieces. I used some 1/8” Grosgrain Ribbon in Call Me Clover to tie a bow around the DSP:
This is then adhered to the card base with Dimensionals:
The inside sentiment is from the Animal Outing stamp set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. The sentiment is stamped in Call Me Clover ink and the frog on a tree limb is stamped in Memento Ink, colored in with Call Me Clover, Lemon Lime Twist, and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers:
What I love about this card is that not only do the dies save you time, but this is a great card to give from a group! The Pick a Pennant Bundle is a great way to customize your card!!
