Patriotic Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the June Stamp It Group Blog Hop and Giveaway! This month’s theme is Patriotic/4thof July and the card I am showing today can also be used as a cute invitation if you are having a celebration to invite friends and family! I used a combination of the Pick A Pennant Bundle (page 173), Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies (page 219), and the Brights 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (page 191) to create this fun and patriotic card!

The card base is Poppy Parade cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The base layer is Pacific Point cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and is embossed with the Simple Stripes TIEF:

I used the Adirondack chair die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies to cut out the three chairs using the white-washed wood from the Wood Textures 6” x 6” DSP and the Poppy Parade and Pacific Point from the Brights 6” x 6” DSP:

To make the template for the pennant from the Playful Pennants Framelits Dies, cut a 2 ½ x 6 ½ piece of Whisper White cardstock, and then cut out the pennants:

Another reason the Stamparatus is a must, you can line up the stamps from the Pick a Pennant stamp set easily to stamp onto your pennant template! I used Poppy Parade and Pacific Point inks to stamp the sentiment:

Using the same Poppy Parade and Pacific Point 6” x 6” DSP for the Adirondack chairs, I flipped the DSP over and to cut the bow from the Playful Pennants Framelits Dies, adding a Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the middle of each:

Adhere the Adirondack chairs to the base layer using Mini Dimensionals cut in half (**Tip-when cutting the Mini Dimensionals in half, cut from point to point and then you will have a flat edge that is easier to line up and hide behind your image):

Mini Dimensionals are used to adhere the pennants and bows across the top, snipping off the excess cardstock:

The base layer is adhered to the card base using Dimensionals:

For the inside sentiment, I used the Celebrate stamp from the Tabs for Everything stamp set in Pacific Point ink, and the stars from the Pick a Pennant stamp set in Poppy Parade and Pacific Point inks:

Isn’t this a fun card?? I’m so happy to see Poppy Parade back, love this bright and cheerful color!! Don’t forget about the pennant template! This can easily be stored with your stamp set or with your other templates and can be used again and again for future stamping!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
