Rustic Wedding Wishes

Welcome to another exciting week of crafting! This week’s theme is going to be Wedding’s and Anniversaries! We all know someone that is getting married or celebrating an anniversary, right? This is going to give me the opportunity to get my creative juices flowing!

To make today’s “Rustic Wedding” card, start with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

The base layer is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. This is ran thru the Big Shot using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and I dragged my Early Espresso ink pad across first (inking it up):

The next layer is a piece of DSP from the Wood Textures DSP Stack, cut at 3” x 4”:

I cut a piece of Gold Glimmer paper measuring 2 ½” x 2 ½”, peeling off the back sheet (this helps when you are using a detailed thinlit), and adhering it to a 2 ½” 2 ½” piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. This piece is then ran thru the Big Shot using the smaller rose thinlit from the Rose Garden Thinlit Dies. Since I am only using the outline of the rose, the other inner pieces will be put in a small bag and used for another project:

The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that is cut out with the 2nd smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

To put the card together, adhere the embossed cardstock to the card base:

Then adhere the DSP on top, around the middle:

Peel the adhesive sheet backing from the rose and place that on top of the DSP:

The sentiment is then adhered on top with dimensionals and I added a piece of Jute Twine that I tied in a bow and adhered with glue dots (Note: the Jute Twine is retired from the 2017 Holiday Catalog, however, I have a ton of it and decided to use this. You can use Copper Trim, Linen Thread, or any other ribbon or trim that you may have.):

The inside sentiment and flower are also from the Rose Wonder stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso in on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

I really like how this card turned out and you could swap out the sentiment for a birthday or even thinking of you. What do you think of this card?

It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up!
