Happy Wishes

Hello and welcome to part 5 of this week’s Sale-A-Bration spotlight on stamp sets! Today I created two quick and easy cards with the Happy Wishes stamp set! You can earn this free with a qualifying $100.00 order and if you are looking for a stamp set with lots of saying, this is it! But don’t delay, Sale-A-Bration ends tomorrow, Saturday March 31st!

Happy Day card:

The card base is Berry Burst cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, and the base layer is Berry Burst Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.

From the Myths & Magic 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper, cut at piece of the iridescent paper 2” x 5 ¼” and punch the end out with the Banner Triple Punch.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the “happy” stamp in Basic Gray Archival ink, color the leaves with Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker, and the flowers are colored in Blushing Bride, Berry Burst, and Rich Razzleberry inks. I used the Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker but used a Blender Pen with the Berry Burst and Rich Razzleberry inks since the markers were too dark for me. The “day” sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst ink. This is then cut out with the 2nd largest Lots of Labels Thinlits and I used some Snail on the back to adhere some Silver Metallic Thread.

To put this card together, I adhered the glimmer paper with Fast Fuse to the Foil DSP layer, adhered that to the card base, and adhered the sentiment in the middle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Best Wishes card:

The card base is in Tempting Turquoise cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, and the base layer is Soft Sky Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.

From the Myths & Magic 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper, cut at piece of the turquoise paper 2” x 5 ¼” and punch the end out with the Banner Triple Punch.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the “best” in Basic Gray Archival ink, color the leaves with Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker and color the flowers with a Blender Pen and Tempting Turquoise and Soft Sky inks. The “wishes” sentiment is stamped in Tempting Turquoise ink. This is then cut out with the 3rd largest Lots of Labels Thinlits and I used some Snail on the back to adhere some Silver Metallic Thread.

To put this card together, I adhered the glimmer paper with Fast Fuse to the Foil DSP layer, adhered that to the card base, and adhered the sentiment in the middle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Celebrate You

Hello and welcome to part 4 of this week’s Sale-A-Bration spotlight on stamp sets! Today I will be featuring the Amazing You stamp set with the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. You can earn the Amazing You stamp set with a qualifying $50.00 order or the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies with a qualifying $100.00 order, however, the Celebrate You Thinlits will be carried over into the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog for purchase.

When making these fun cards, I decided to make two cards with the 2016-2018 In Colors that will be retiring on May 31st, one soft and subtle and one bright and cheerful! The color pallet I used for the first card is Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum, and Perfect Plum. The color pallet I used for the second card is Daffodil Delight, Emerald Envy, and Dapper Denim.

The card base is Sweet Sugarplum/Daffodil Delight cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. The base layer is Perfect Plum/Dapper Denim cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. The second layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¾”.

On the Whisper White cardstock, first use your Embossing Buddy across the paper, using the “burst” stamp with Versamark ink, stamp along the bottom and left side, then sprinkle White Embossing Powder across the stamped images, and set with the Heat Tool. Using a Sponge Dauber, color the embossed image with the colors in a circular motion, you can use a tissue or paper towel to wipe the ink off the embossing to make it white again and stand out.

For one card, I used a piece of Champagne Foil and Blushing Bride cardstock to cut out the Celebrate. For the other card, I used Gold Foil and Emerald Envy cardstock to cut out the Celebrate, gluing them together slightly off to make the cardstock look like a shadow. I cut Mini Dimensionals in half and placed them along the back of the Celebrate and then placed on the Whisper White cardstock. The “you” stamp from this set is stamped in either Sweet Sugarplum or Dapper Denim inks.

The base layer is embossed with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF, which I took the coordinating ink pad and dragged across to ink up the folder before embossing (Perfect Plum or Dapper Denim).

To put the card together, adhere the base layer to the card base, use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the second layer, and then add some coordinating Enamel Shapes.

This quick and easy card can be used for different ways to celebrate someone! How would you use this card to celebrate? What colors would you use to create this card?

Party Pandas

Hello and welcome to part 3 of this week’s Sale-A-Bration spotlight on stamp sets! Today I will be featuring the Party Pandas stamp set, some punch art, and the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes. I chose one of the cards from this set because I thought it would go great with the idea I had in my head to make this card, but to also show you that the cards and envelopes are another free product that you can earn with Sale-A-Bration!

To make this card, I chose the Lemon Lime striped card and it’s already cut and scored for you! : ) Now, the rest is easy!

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the panda with the party hat and the panda holding the balloon in Basic Black ink, except for the balloon, which you can either mask the stamp with some tape or wipe off, and then cut out. I used Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the party hat on the panda.

To make the leaf background, I used the Leaf Punch and punched out 10 in Garden Green cardstock and 9 in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. These are assembled and adhered to each to a piece of Vellum cardstock cut ½” wide with Mini Glue Dots. I had one of each color left over, so I adhered those at the bottom in-between the two strips.

The pandas were placed and adhered to make it look like they are hanging or coming out of the leaves.

fullsizeoutput_162e

The sentiment from this set is stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock that is a ½” wide, in Lemon Lime Twist ink and then trimmed and the end is punched with the Triple Banner Punch. This is placed on the panda with the party hat to make it look like he is holding the banner as he is coming out of the leaves.

For some added effect, I used the clear circle and teardrop shapes, from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes, on the leaves.

The inside of these cards are white and blank, so no need to cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to stamp your sentiment. What do you think of this card? Do you have this stamp set? If so, what have you created?

Heartfelt Blooms

Hello and welcome to part 2 of this week’s Sale-A-Bration stamp set spotlight! Today I will be featuring the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set and I can see why this is so popular! The details on the flower is stunning and that by itself can make any card gorgeous! I’m also using two colors I never thought would go together, Flirty Flamingo and Soft Suede.

The card base is Flirty Flamingo cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. The first base layer is Soft Suede cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼” and the second base layer is Whisper White cardstock but at 3 ¾” x 5”.

For this card, I started with stamping the flower stamp in Flirty Flamingo ink on the Whisper White cardstock towards the opposite corners and then stamped in Soft Suede ink in between those two. The sentiment is from the Amazing You stamp set, stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Flirty Flamingo ink. This is then cut out with the 2nd smallest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then is layered on top of a piece of Soft Suede cardstock cut out with the 4th smallest Layering Ovals Framelits. I placed some adhesive on back of this and used some Gold Metallic Thread.

To put this card together, I adhered the base layers together on top of the card base and then used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the sentiment on top.

Here is my alternative card, I just flip-flop the colors and used the sentiment from Heartfelt Blooms:

This was such an easy card to create and you can change it up to whatever color combo and sentiments you want to use. I would love to hear what color combo you would use!

Lots of Lavender

Hello and welcome to a new week with a new theme, well, sort of J! In case you missed it, the countdown to the end of Sale-A-Bration is near and the last day to qualify for $50.00 or $100.00 rewards is March 31st. This week I will be showcasing the stamps that you can earn, so don’t delay and get your order in today!

Today I will be featuring the Lots of Lavender stamp set, which I used to make this stained-glass technique card, along with some heat embossing, die and fussy cutting.

The card base is Basic Gray, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”. The first base layer is Wisteria Wonder, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and the second base layer is from the Wood Textures DSP Stack, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”.

First, stamp the bouquet stamp on a piece of Vellum cardstock and then set aside to dry. Next, I stamped the Wisteria Wonder cardstock with the Post Script background stamp in Wisteria Wonder ink. For the Wood Textures DSP, the Post Script background stamp is used again with Versamark ink and then heat embossed in Silver Embossing Powder (don’t forget your Embossing Buddy!)

The stamped Vellum cardstock should be dry (you can use the heat tool to finish drying, be careful or it will burn!), flip it over and color from the back using Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant Stampin’ Write Markers for the ribbon and the flowers and then use Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers for the leaves.

For the Big Shot work, you will use the largest Lots of Labels Framelits to cut out the flower from the Vellum cardstock and a piece of Whisper White cardstock. The frame is created from layering the largest and the 2nd largest Lots of Labels Framelits on a piece of Wisteria Wonder cardstock. Use a Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the Vellum Cardstock to the Wisteria Wonder frame, then on the back, place Foam Adhesive Strips down the sides and a Mini Dimensional at the top and bottom, line up with the Whisper White cardstock and then adhere all together.

To put the card together, adhere both base layers to the card base, place some adhesive in the middle of the embossed layer and place the Lots of Labels piece on top.

The butterfly is from the Blossoming Basket stamp set, stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Memento ink three times, colored in with Smokey Slate and Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers, and some Wink of Stella. These are then cut out, two are adhered with Mini Dimensionals and one with a Mini Glue Dot. The edges are then sponged with some Basic Gray ink.

What do you think of this card? It was my first time using the stained-glass technique and using the Post Script background stamp. This card was really fun and easy to make, great for any occasion!

Easter Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group Easter Blog Hop and giveaway for March! I’m so excited to be participating in another blog hop with such a talented group of ladies!

fullsizeoutput_15ff

Creating this Easter card was the perfect opportunity for me to play with the Sweet Little Something stamp set from the Occasions Catalog, along with my Stamparatus! This card really is a labor of love, I tried different techniques and colors for the bunny so he wouldn’t be too light or too dark with this three-step stamp set. I also experimented with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create a basket for the bunny before I finally decided on the tarnished foil technique.

The card base is Soft Suede cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”, and is embossed using the Simple Stripes TIEF. The base layer is from the Tutti-frutti 6 “x 6” Designer Series Paper, cut at 5” x 4”.

To create the bunny, I found it easier for me to start with the stamp that has the least amount of detail, then the more detailed stamp and then finally the solid silhouette stamp. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I used Soft Suede ink for the first stamp, Crumb Cake ink for the next stamp, used a Stampin’ Sponge to dab Crumb Cake ink onto the solid silhouette stamp, and then the image is cut out (I used Black Rhinestone Jewels for the eye and these are now retired!). The bow is a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine that I folded three times before I tied it into a bow and is adhered with a glue dot.

To make the basket, first start with a piece of Silver Foil Sheet, cut at 3 ½” x 3”, use the Versamark ink pad on the inside of the top folder piece (with the Stampin’ Up! Logo), place the foil sheet inside and then run thru the Big Shot. Using Gold and Copper Embossing Powders, randomly sprinkle on the embossed sheet and set with the Heat Tool. Once cooled, lightly drag the Memento ink pad across and carefully dry again with the Heat Tool. Using Paper Snips, I started at one corner and cut at an inward angle and then used the cut piece as a guide to cut the other side so they would be even to look like a basket. The top corners where rounded with the Envelope Punch Board, then about a ½” was cut along the top, flipped upside down, then adhered with Mini Dimensionals to complete the basket look.

The flowers from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits in Blushing Bride and So Saffron card stock. The leaves are punched out in Garden Green and Vellum cardstocks using the Leaf Punch, then layered together and adhered to the back side of the basket with Mini Glue Dots. The flowers were arranged along the top of the basket, adhered to the outside with Mini Glue Dots, and then the smallest Pearl Basic Jewels are placed in the center of each flower. The sentiment from this stamp set is stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Pear Pizzazz ink, with the end punched out with the Banner Triple Punch.

To put this card together, I adhered the cut-out bunny with Snail, the sentiment and the basket with Stampin’ Dimensionals, so it looks like the bunny is peaking out, all on the DSP base layer. The DSP is then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well. I still felt like this card need something else, so I added the heart shaped embellishments from the Subtle Enamel Shapes to coordinate with the flowers and the clear raindrops on the leaves from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.

I hope you like this card as much as I do, wasn’t too bad once I figured out the bunny and basket parts!

Party Panda Center Explosion Card

Hello and welcome to day 5 of this week’s Sale-A-Bration countdown! As promised, today’s card is something completely different using the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper! This super cute card is actually from Dawn Griffith and you can watch her video here. She does a great job in explaining how to make this card, so I will let you get the details and cuts from there. However, I will explain how I made my CASE’d version!

I will have to admit that when making this card you need 12” x 12” cardstock and any of my cardstock is old, I mean old, but it still works! Just means I need to update that supply! Lol

I used Basic Gray as a base layer, Bubbles & Fizz for my choice of DSP, and Party Pandas stamp set because I made this card for a special young lady that turned 18.

For the front, I stamped the panda holding the balloon in Memento Ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out. I then cut four balloons using the Balloon Bouquet Punch in Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Calypso Coral, and Bermuda Bay cardstock. I used the Labeler Alphabet stamp set to stamp each letter in her name in Versamark ink and then heat embossed in Silver Embossing Powder. I tied Black Metallic Thread around the balloon end and then adhered together at the panda’s paw with the silver foil heart from the Metallic Enamel Shapes. I popped two of the balloons up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the front inside layer, I stamped the panda with the party hat on in Memento ink, coloring in the hat with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist, and Bermuda Bay Stampin Write Markers. The same color markers where used to color the confetti stamp that is around the panda.

For the back inside layer, I stamped the panda holding the letter in Memento ink, coloring the heart with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker. The sentiment is from the Party Panda set and is stamped in Calypso Coral ink.

I used a piece of Basic Gray Shimmer Ribbon to tie the card closed.

What do you think of my version? I am happy with how this turned out and this was such a fun card to make! Thank you Dawn for sharing this!!

Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!
